The Key to a Fulfilling Life

Four simple principles

1) Excitement – Take on what excites you most. That which appeals to you, challenges you, promises you to feel alive. Choose the most exciting thing you can do. Even if, or especially when it scares you.
2) Fully commit – Go for it, give it your best, with everything you got. Explore that thing to the furthest you can take it.
3) Apply ethics – Act with honor, honesty, decency, and integrity. Be a good person doing your thing.
4) Open your mind – Don’t get tied down by expectations. Don’t expect anything, don’t project any desired outcome or shape to your endeavours, but embrace what you’re given. Be grateful for it.

Embracing these four principles

If you follow these key principles, you will face life with enthusiasm, you will have a lot of energetic experiences, from which you will take important lessons.
Focusing on excitement, with persistence, integrity and freedom from expectation, will provide you all you need to navigate life, grow and be happy.

Of course, we can easily imagine how a lot of people spend their lives avoiding that which challenges them. For various reasons. We usually get these patterns from our parents. To those people I say: just try! Reprogram your mind with these 4 principles, as instructions, by repeating them every day. You will be able to face your challenges and leave those old patterns of avoidance behind you. Even when your issues seem too profound to overcome, it will become clear you just need to get a bit of help.

Aligning with life

Following your excitement will align you with life’s opportunities. You will find that everything will become easy and abundant. You will experience how everything is connected and how taking an exciting path opens up another.

The alignment will also be clear internally: you’ll be able to identify what works for you and what doesn’t, just by how it feels. You’ll be able to turn all situations into beneficial to you, seeing and experiencing the positive.
You will be able to navigate your life with ease when you stick to those principles. Your attitude will be inspiring to those around you for being enthusiastic, open minded and positive.

This is all you need for life.
What you practice will shape your feelings, your thinking patterns and behaviour. If there’s anything in your mind, feeling or situation that is out of alignment with your excitement, you will be able to track it to the thought or act where it originated, recognize it and deal with it. Holding on to something that doesn’t work for you will seem nonsense so you’ll let it go.

There is a profound spiritual dimension to living, following these 4 principles. You will be more in the now, living in the moment and you’ll be much more aware of how everything we see is connected. And that’s a beautiful thing. Everything you need will present itself to you, as you are awakened to the world you live in.

This is an adaptation of some other guy’s monologue. I don’t claim nor the ownership nor the enlightenment of it. But I can say that I have, to a fair degree, applied these principles to my life. I take on things that excite me. I give it all I got – well, within reason. I practice integrity. I mitigate for expectations. I do feel like everything I need is presenting itself to me when I need it. And at times I feel I am – kind of – spiritually awakened. That, however is a whole different topic.
